Natural Resource Board Passes Wolf Management Plan

WORT 89.9FM Madison · Natural Resource Board Passes Wolf Management Plan

On October 25, the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board approved the DNR’s 2023 Wolf Management Plan and sent the associated rules package to Governor Tony Evers for signature.  The plan follows two hastily arranged and controversial wolf hunts in Wisconsin, followed by a 2022 federal court ruling that restored endangered species protections to Gray Wolves in Wisconsin.  Here with a reaction to the DNR’s latest effort is Adrian Wydeven, a certified wildlife biologist, Chair of the Timber Wolf Alliance and Co-Chair of the Wildlife Working Group of Wisconsin Green Fire.
