Madison Blues Society’s Annual End-of-Summer Blues Concert

A mainstay in the city for almost a quarter a of century, the Madison Blues Society never fails to give our summers an exciting send off. This year is no exception, with their annual End of Summer Blues happening Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Steve Porter, current president of the Society, talked with Tony Castañeda and Eli Wilz on the Thursday 8 O’Clock Buzz about this year’s impressive lineup, which includes Donna Herula, described as “a truly gifted virtuoso of the resonator guitar who also possesses the most stunning of voices” and her band; southcentral Wisconsin’s BA Band featuring vocalist Beth Miller; and the Birddog Blues Band, comprised of musicians from some of Wisconsin and the Midwest’s best combos including Ken Olufs, formerly of The Jimmys.

The festival will take place at the ever-popular East Side Club on the beautiful shores of Lake Monona, with plenty of food and drinks available for purchase. Talk about a good Midwest combo.
