Jazz Legend Roscoe Mitchell Plays Benefit Show at Café Coda

Long-time Madisonian and master of improvisation Roscoe Mitchell joined Thursday 8 O’Clock Buzz host Tony Castañeda to talk about his upcoming shows at Café Coda this weekend.

Saturday 12/7:
6 PM – Jason Adasiewicz – jazz vibraphonist
8 PM – Roscoe Mitchell Quartet

Sunday 12/8
3 PM: EPD (Extraordinary Popular Delusions, Chicago free improv all-stars)
5 PM: Roscoe Mitchell Quartet

The shows, which will benefit Café Coda’s Cool Jazz School, feature saxophonist Mitchell and friends who will honor the late Terence ‘Terry’ Edwin Martin, a Chicago scholar and jazz lover who was one of the first people ever to make a recording of Mitchell.
