Immigration and Empowerment: Rights, Community Response and Care

As Inauguration Day nears, there is growing anxiety and fear among undocumented people about just how Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric will play out during the next administration.

A public panel, “Immigration and Empowerment: Rights, Community Response and Care”, will be held at Ingraham Hall on Friday at 3:00pm to discuss community responses to immigration law enforcement. Tony’s guests on the Thursday Buzz, Theresa Delgadillo and Armando Ibarra from the UW Chican@ & Latin@ Studies Program invite students, staff, alumni, and faculty; university community members who are part of mixed-status families and communities; and anyone interested in learning about the history of immigration and immigration rights, the history of deportation, wellbeing in difficult times and how communities can prepare to respond.

Addtionally, there will be a community meeting at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 7 at Centro Hispano to learn more about immigration and immigrant rights and community response to immigration law enforcement.
