You have less than a week to see the new “Dark Side of the Moon” exhibit at the Madison Metropolitan School District planetarium!
A video projection is displayed in the planetarium, while Benjamin Senson operates the controls.
This isn’t about getting a view of the non-Earthward side of our largest satellite, but rather the chance to see a special projected show on a planetarium screen of the iconic album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released 51 years ago. And you can see it right here in Madison, at the MMSD Planetarium located at Vel Phillips High School on Gammon Road.
An audience takes in a show in the planetarium
Benjamin Senson is the director of the MMSD Planetarium, and former physics and astronomy teacher. Benjamin joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing by phone to talk about how he brought the legendary album to the planetarium, and how it is that Madison has a planetarium in a high school in the first place.
