Millions of migratory birds are on the move, ranging from tiny hummingbirds to Tundra Swans with 8-foot wingspans. If you’re looking for a non-commercial way to spend your holiday weekend, Poynette’s Goose Pond Sanctuary asks you to participate in the Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance’s annual Christmas bird count. The bird count will happen this Saturday, December 28th, in Poynette, Wisconsin.
Wildlife Biologist Mark Martin and his wife Susan Foote-Martin are resident managers of the Goose Pond Sanctuary. Mark called in to WORT studios and described to Monday Eight o’Clock Buzz host Brian Standing how bird counts help bird populations.
