As ICE raids are now underway in major cities, the immigration community is understandably anxious and afraid. Thursday 8 O’Clock Buzz host Tony Castañeda welcomes Voces de la Frontera Deputy Director Of Organizing Eastern Region, Luis Velasquez, who provides a wealth of information to help immigrants navigate the uncertain times ahead.
As a way to give Wisconsinites real-time information and support, Voces has recently opened a bi-lingual emergency hotline for people who feel at risk of being detained by ICE. The hotline (414-465-8078) is staffed by both Voces de la Frontera staff and volunteers, and provides callers with legal, emotional and practical tools to help protect themselves and their families.
