Childcare Programs In Peril as Trump Freezes Federal Support

WORT 89.9FM Madison ยท Head Start Programs Struggle Under Federal Funds Freeze

On January 28, the Federal Office of Management and Budget issued a memo ordering a complete freeze on all federal grants and funds. The announcement threw thousands of agencies and organizations into turmoil. Attorneys General from 22 states filed suit in federal court. On January 29, the OMB formally rescinded its memo, but White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the freeze was still on. We turn now to Jen Bailey, Executive Director of Reach Dane, which runs the federally-funded Head Start child education program in Dane County, Wisconsin.
