Contrary to the mantra of Musk and Trump, the Social Security system is one of the most efficient of all government agencies, with less than 1% administrative costs, according to Linda Benesch of Social Security Works. Benesch says that Trump appointee to lead the program, Frank Bisignano, will accelerate the DOGE destruction and potential privatization of Social Security. April 5th has been designated a day of action to support Social Security.
